American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring Epic proficiency and strong neuro-critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 29-bed Neuro ICU within a hospital settingHandles neurocritical cases including strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and post-op cranial proceduresMay care for off-service trauma or medical ICU patientsRN to patient ratio is typically 1 : 2, with occasional 1 : 3 for lower acuity casesShift is 1900 to 0700 with options for 36-hour workweeksWeekend rotation is every other Friday, Saturday, and SundayRequired to work 75% of holidaysFloating to adult critical care units such as MICU, STICU, Dixon Heart, and CTICU as neededUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, and unit-specific equipment like Artic Sun and Vigilance MonitorNo on-call responsibilitiesCollaboration with a multidisciplinary team including 24 / 7 RT, intensivists, NPs / PAs, PT / OT / ST, and pharmacy supportMust be comfortable with nurse-drawn phlebotomy and supervising unlicensed personnel as neededTwo-day departmental orientation provided, with onboarding tailored to experienceScrub color is navy blueFree parking available on siteTeam-oriented unit culture with strong retention focusManager approval required for requested time off\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of adult ICU experienceExperience with Epic EMR requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSSCompetency in neuro-critical care, including management of EVD / ICP monitoring, ventilator management, vasoactive drips, tracheostomy care, and central line maintenancePrevious travel assignment of at least 13 weeks must be completedAbility to manage CRRT if competent\n Benefits\n
