Position Summary : The mission of The Empowerment Program (Empowerment) is to holistically help individuals build healthier lives from the inside out. The Director of Participant Services will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the agency's Direct Services programming, which includes trauma, gender, and culturally responsive holistic behavioral health treatment and supportive services. Additionally, the Director of Participant Services will be responsible for supervising program staff, managing grant deliverables, collaborating with community partners, and participating in program and organizational development. The Director of Participant Services is responsible for leading a team of professionals to administer excellent care to those with either physical disabilities, illnesses, or behavioral conditions.
This position will collaborate with and report directly to the Housing Director.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
Management and Supervision
- Support a trauma-responsive culture and retention of staff and participants by investing in and prioritizing self-care for yourself and all team members.
- Work with the Housing Director to establish program direction for participant services and adherence to the agency's participant-centered, anti-oppressive and trauma-responsive philosophy of service delivery.
- Provide staff with task, administrative and / or clinical supervision in accordance with all compliance standards, best practices, grant requirements and Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) regulations to ensure effective and timely implementation of all services.
- Promote open and honest communication and foster collaboration by leading staff in resolving participant and staff issues through a restorative justice lens.
- Organize, collaborate, and cultivate long-term relationships with participants to empower vulnerable and oppressed individuals by consistently seeking direct input from participants and amplifying their voice
- Provide employee training, coaching and ongoing supervision to direct services staff to ensure appropriate interventions with participants and staff compliance with all grants and OBH requirements.
- Review staff maintenance of proper participant files, including all intake forms, individual treatment plans and / or reports to ensure all files are complete and up to date.
- Build and maintain collaborations and partnerships between the agency and community stakeholders to promote effective utilization of services and continuity of care concerns.
- Attend various agency and community meetings as required.
- Adhere to all agency, state and federal policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Evaluation and Reporting
Work with the Executive Director and Housing Director to provide implementation management and ongoing evaluation of programs and services.Design or modify specific data collection instruments for programs such as surveys, assessments, and focus group protocol.Work with staff to collect data and evaluate individual programs and services.Work with Program Managers to oversee the preparation and completion of grant and other agency reports and annual program site visits to include HMIS reports.Agency-Wide Leadership and Advocacy
Amplify the voice of participants throughout the community through relational and trauma responsive organization and collaboration.Provide support and infrastructure for community engagement, empowering volunteers to be part of the agency's work.Balance program priorities with agency-wide priorities.Work with Executive Director and Program Management to implement strategic and organizational planning initiatives.Preferred knowledge, abilities, and skills :
Proven history of maintaining effective relationships with participants, staff, volunteers, and community partnersProven history of organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program areasProven history of provide training, orientation, consultation, and guidance within programs specialization of practiceKnowledge of clinical assessment techniques and evidence-informed practice guidelinesKnowledge of principles, methods, and practices of effective supervisionKnowledge of quality assurance and outcome measurements, data collection methods and evaluation conceptsExperience working across diverse communitiesAbility to de-escalate stressful situations with participants who have a history of complex traumaEducation, Training and Experience
