Job Title : Facilities Technician

Job Description

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of building systems and facilities operations. This position serves as the primary contact for any building issues, including climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs. The role involves creating and processing work orders, maintaining interior and exterior building conditions, and managing utilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for building issues, including climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs.
  • Create work orders from phone, email, or verbal requests, and process, assign, and update daily work orders.
  • Perform maintenance of interior and exterior buildings, including painting, minor construction, repairs, equipment, and furniture installation.
  • Monitor facility and equipment conditions and recommend maintenance or improvements.
  • Maintain all building equipment, order supplies and tools, and keep an inventory.
  • Manage and maintain primary utilities’ systems, such as HVAC systems and elevators, and check and control water, gas, and electric systems.
  • Solicit bids and quotes from vendors, schedule repairs, and monitor contractor performance.
  • Assist the supervisor in project coordination, including large-scale repair and new facility construction / renovation projects.
  • Respond immediately to building emergencies on a 24 / 7 basis.
  • Perform repairs and / or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices as required.
  • Perform re-lamping, repairs, and / or replacement of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances as required.
  • Conduct carpentry work to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furniture.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Transport goods or equipment as required.
  • Order small tools and materials for work order completion and assist in maintaining tools and materials inventory.
  • Assist and perform preventive maintenance programs and facilities inspections, providing written documentation to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist with fire drills as needed and provide training to new employees.
  • Follow OSHA regulations for all projects, equipment operation, and chemical usage.
  • Conduct site inspections and complete checklists regularly, providing documentation to the Maintenance Supervisor and Director.
  • Oversee overall building cleanliness and job performance of Technicians I & II.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor & Director.

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.
