Responsibilities
An ADS Professional Over the Road Fleet Driver is required to safely operate company equipment and provide the highest level of service in terms of pickup and delivery of any ADS Freight. A Driver is responsible for inspecting, tracking and maintaining the maintenance of the unit that is assigned to him / her as well as any equipment being hauled. ADS Drivers must maintain legal and accurate Daily Driver Logs in regards to hours of service, ADS-related paperwork and driving best practices. Drivers receive work assignments based on their hours of availability. This position requires the flexibility to work any day of the week when driving hours are available. Drivers should expect to be "on the road" for the equivalent of 25 days per month. Drivers report directly to the centralized Freight Manager (Hilliard, OH) but will be domiciled at one of the ADS manufacturing facilities. Drivers will be trained in the Samsara onboard telematics system, and will be expected to use it to manage logs, safety events and standard communications with their Freight Manager.

The responsibilities of an ADS Professional Fleet Driver include, but are not limited to :
- Safe operation of all company equipment
- Report BOL discrepancies
- Maintain proper communication with Freight Manager, Plant personnel and customers.
- Manage safe unloading at delivery destination and place product in consignee's desired location
- Maintain an accurate and legal driving log and communicate availability to Fleet Manager
- Timely reporting of ALL accidents, incidents or violations
- Ensure accuracy of delivered quantities and product types
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily paperwork (trip envelope, RMA's)
- Maintain high levels of personal appearance in the wearing of the company uniform
- Submit all company-related documents on a daily basis whenever possible.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operational capacity
- Route management- takes responsibility for travelling the safest, most direct route. Avoid unnecessary excess miles.
- Adhere to company and departmental policies
- Ensure loads are properly secured
- Perform pre / post trip inspections of all equipment
- Report equipment and payload problems / hazards
- Perform in-route inspection of all equipment
- Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES

A Professional Fleet Driver must meet the following eligibility requirements at all times during his / her term of employment :
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) that is applicable for the type of commercial equipment being operatedMust meet / or exceed physical standards of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administrations (FMCSA) and ADSMust have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from all states where prior licenses were heldMust be at least 21 years of age (DOT requirement for interstate operation)Must satisfactorily pass all required drug testsMust pass ADS road test and background checksMust be willing to be over the road for approximately three weeks each month. Driver should expect approximately five days home-time a month, not on consecutive days.Must be willing to operate a CMV equipped with E-Logs. This includes managing E-logs, safety events and communications with Fleet Manager through the telematics system.Physical Requirements :
All potential new hire candidates and current drivers within ADS are required to successfully pass the DOT driver medical qualifications and to also meet and / or exceed ADS physical job requirements. All medical examinations must be performed by an ADS certified physician that is qualified to perform such physical examinations.
