Job Overview :
We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and proactive Unit Clerk with a valid Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) license to support our nursing staff and deliver excellent patient care. This role is a combination of administrative and clinical duties, providing crucial support to the healthcare team while ensuring seamless unit operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, an understanding of patient care protocols, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Administrative Duties :
- Schedules specialty appointments and coordinates with unit managers.
- Coordinates facility transportation for medical appointments and procedures.
- Speaks with and direct patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prepare and maintain unit-specific reports, calendars, and logs.
- Ensure that unit schedules are organized and communicate effectively to all relevant staff.
- Facilitate communication between departments, including doctors, nurses, and support staff.
- Communicates with Transport Solution experts to ensure necessary paperwork and procedures are handled.
- Helps facilitate Restorative Nursing Program.
Clinical Support Duties (as CNA) :
Restorative Nursing Program.If necessary, assist with patient activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility assistance.Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes to nursing staff.Provide emotional support to patients, offering comfort and reassurance.Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions or behaviors to the nursing team.Ensure patient safety by maintaining a clean and safe environment in the unit.Qualifications :
Required :Valid Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) license in [state / country].High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is preferred.Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Preferred :Previous experience as a Unit Clerk or in an administrative role within a healthcare facility.CPR and First Aid certification.Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move patients or equipment, sometimes requiring assistance.Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.Ability to perform tasks that require dexterity and attention to detail.Working Conditions :
May require working on weekends, evenings, or holidays.The role will be performed in a hospital or healthcare setting, with exposure to patients and medical equipment.Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
