Department : Maintenance

Reports To : Raycraft Plant Manager

Classification : Non-exempt (Hourly)

Job Summary :

Execute duties given by Raycraft Plant Manager and managers. Properly carry out required duties as assigned. Diagnose, repair, design, and fabricate to increase production flow.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Maintain equipment – keep equipment functioning properly and maintain preventative maintenance logs for each machine, at Raycraft.
  • Responsible for maintenance and minor repair of Raycraft vehicles.
  • Recommend outside help when needed.
  • Follow company protocol for requisitions, using cost effective means to purchase parts for Raycraft equipment related repairs.
  • Responsible for occasional work outside of standard work schedule for emergency purposes (facility and machine repair) and weather-related purposes (snow removal).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Machining and press repair experience strongly preferred.
  • Small and large engine repair experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver license and ability to be covered on company auto insurance (based on driving record)

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge and skills in the following areas : Machining, press repair, small and large engine repair, portable machining, heavy equipment operating, fabricating and design
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, utilizing proper diagnostic tools and precision measuring devices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong general computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures

    • ­Physical and Environmental Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift to perform job duties
  • Physical activity such as walking, bending, reaching, and twisting to access machinery and various areas of the facilities and vehicles
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend steps, stairs, or ladders to access machinery, fork trucks, vehicles, and various areas of the facilities
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds while repairing machinery or performing various facility functions
  • Exposure to machinery and loud noises
  • Local travel and occasional regional travel required for company business.

    All employees at this facility have the responsibility and authority to note areas of product or customer issues and bring it to management’s attention.
