- FACT CHECKING is a must! 3 or more years in a pharma ad agency environment is strongly preferred, but same number of years at a medical education company is OK as well
- Ability to understand ad agency editorial process and manage assigned work without constant guidance; demonstrate the ability to evaluate a task upon receipt, identify its requirements, and determine the best approach, rather than simply following instructions without question
- 3 or more years experience with the ability to conduct all types of reviews : cold reads, compares, full reads, disaster checks, check changes, and know what the job needs for that round.
- Ability to communicate well with brand and Editorial teams when needed
- Experience working with Oncology brands or neurotoxins would be a great plus, but not necessary
Job functions / responsibilities :
Edit and proofread copy for assigned and other brands as neededFact checks annotated copy using provided references, ensuring acceptable sources are usedCollaborate and communicate with Editorial Director and team members to maintain quality and meet goalsPrioritize and manage workload, meetings, and various tasks to ensure all deliverables are met with excellence; ability to handle multiple jobs and prioritize as neededThoroughly understand assigned brands and product categoriesDemonstrate a drive to ensure adherence to client and brand guidelinesContribute ideas / feedback for improving process and minimizing errorOffer guidance and training to junior team members and freelancers to ensure integrity of editorial processProactively offer and provide help to others to ensure all work moves through the department efficientlyCreate / maintain brand style guides and bibliographies in a timely mannerUnderstand and execute AMA style and vary editorial styles per brand needsQualifications :
Any College degree3 to 5 years medical editing and fact checking experience in a pharma ad agency / medical education environment (agency experience preferred)Demonstrated ability to work independently with a motivated, self-starting attitudeAbility to creatively adapt to changing deadlines, providing recommendations as neededKnowledge of current AMA style and FDA guidelines governing pharmaceutical products / devicesSolid ability to use MS Office (including Outlook, Teams, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, and / or ProofHQ
