Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Emergency Room and Med Surg position, requiring an active SD or compact RN license and recent ER and Med Surg experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Critical Access Hospital setting, floating between the Emergency Room and Med Surg unitsPatient population includes both acute medical-surgical and emergency casesUnit size is 25 beds with typical Med Surg nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4 : 1 based on census and acuityRotating day and night 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend and holiday shifts are requiredOne on-call shift required every 13 weeksUses EPIC for charting and documentationMedication dispensing via Pixis systemMust float between ER and Med Surg as neededPrimary responsibilities include providing nursing care in both emergency and med surg settings as neededEPIC computer training and 1 day each of ER and Med Surg training provided during orientationMust wear navy scrubs with no logos; white can be worn under uniform or as a lab coatFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHoliday coverage is required based on unit schedulingAll clinicians must badge in and out at the facilityLocal candidates within 80 miles are eligible but will have a lower pay rateRequirements
Active SD or compact state RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years' RN experience requiredAt least 6 months of ER experience in the past yearAt least 6 months of Med Surg experience in the past yearCurrent BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required before startNRP certification required (can be obtained onsite with approval)TNCC certification preferredAbility to function independently in both ER and Med Surg unitsBenefits
