Compensation Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,570 - $1,680 per week Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown) Healthcare Setting : Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital Unit : Main 6 Ortho / Medical Surgical / Telemetry Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Nursing Shift : 3x12-Hour Days (07 : 00 – 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (50% weekends required) Call Requirement : In turn with unit staff Float Requirement : Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Patient Ratio : 1 : 5-6 Charting System : Cerner EMR Medication System : Pyxis Scrubs : Any color (no hospital logos) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active DC RN License (pending license accepted with proof; must have license in hand prior to start) Minimum 1.5 years of acute care nursing experience required First-time travel nurses accepted (minimum 4 years nursing experience required) BLS certification required BSN preferred Two supervisor references required Experience with orthopedic and medical surgical patient care preferred Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in orthopedic and medical surgical settings Administer medications, manage PCA pumps, epidural and perineural PCA pumps, and high-risk drips (Heparin, Ketamine, Lidocaine infusions) Perform blood product administration, central line blood draws, IV starts and maintenance, and peripheral nerve block catheter management Implement isolation precautions and oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, oxygen tanks) Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and case managers Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Document patient care using Cerner EMR and communicate effectively using SBAR Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Discover top Washington, DC nursing jobs and make a difference in patient lives.
