About This Role

We use in-house talent, expertise and resources to plan, design, engineer, manage, conduct maintenance on and construct projects. This turnkey project execution strategy ensures there is one point of contact to handle projects of any size from beginning to end and allows a cohesive and coordinated Quanta Services team to enter the project life cycle at the earliest stage possible. Our turnkey service capabilities provide our customers with efficiency, consistency, attention to detail and safe execution.

The Supervising Engineer will oversee the detailed design of high voltage substation projects. This role involves managing a team of engineers, designers and support staff to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, with extensive experience in performing the detailed design of high voltage substation projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout.
• Supervise a team of engineers, designers, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and plans for high voltage electrical substation projects.
• Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure all projects comply with applicable industry, client, governmental regulations and standards.
• Implement and oversee quality control procedures.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records.
• Evaluate and monitor engineering contractors and consultants.
• Assist in selection, training, coaching of direct reports to build effective teams.
• Assign tasks to project design team based on project needs
• Work with project team to create or modify all design documents
• Ensure project team applies engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
• Other duties as required
