Responsibilities Work in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting with combined ER and Med Surg units Care for both emergency and acute Med Surg patient populations 25-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4 : 1 on Med Surg, depending on census and acuity Float between ER and Med Surg as needed Day / night rotating 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week Required to work every other weekend and holiday One on-call shift required every 13 weeks Uses EPIC for charting and computer training provided Medication systems include Sanford One Charge and Pyxis Deliver nursing care for ER and Med Surg patients, including assessment, medication administration, and emergency interventions Attend one day of ER training and one day of Med Surg training during orientation Comply with facility dress code : navy scrubs with no logos, white items permitted underneath or as lab coat All staff must badge in and out each shift Holiday coverage is required based on rotating schedule Local candidates within an 80-mile radius are accepted, with a local pay adjustment If previously employed at Sanford Health, must not have worked there within 6 months prior to consideration Requirements Active SD or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years RN experience At least 6 months of ER and 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (AHA) required before start NRP certification required (may be completed onsite with approval) TNCC preferred Ability to function independently in both the ER and Med Surg settings Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617495.
