About Us

The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on Ferst Drive on the west side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.

Job Summary

Scuba Instructor : This job involves teaching individuals how to scuba dive, ensuring their safety, and guiding them through various diving experiences. This includes classroom sessions, pool training, and open water dives. Instructors are responsible for preparing equipment, managing logistics, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Instruction :

Teach diving techniques, safety procedures, and relevant knowledge through classroom sessions, pool training, and open water dives.

Evaluate student performance and certify them in various diving courses, such as Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver.

Ensure a safe diving environment by conducting briefings, supervising dives, and managing potential risks.

Inspect, maintain, and report services as needed to management.

Assist students with equipment selection, address their questions, and provide guidance.

Share knowledge about marine life and ecosystems, promoting responsible diving practices.

Manage schedules, bookings, and other administrative duties related to dive operations.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience

Up to two years of job related experience

This job requires skills as applied within a large recreational facility coupled with specialized knowledge in area of responsibility.
