job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAutomation Support for Manufacturing Systems using Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB, Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens platforms, including programming, graphics development, and system hardware support Technical assessment of new software requirements for projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing systems Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements and business needs Manage projects – defining scope, stakeholder analysis, objectives, timeline, testing phase, implementation, and evaluation Write control narratives, technical procedures, and documentation for applications (operating procedures, troubleshooting procedures, user manuals, etc.) Train operators on new and existing software Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations for commissioning, functional testing and startup of process control equipment Support, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify existing and legacy control systems Develop and apply communication interfaces between equipment and control systems using various protocols Develop and apply Emerson DeltaV programming and HMI programming Participate in acceptance testing for equipment at customer or vendor site Develop technical solutions to resolve project issues P3 : Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus at least five years of experience in a relevant role, or Master's / Doctoral degree with appropriate experience P4 : Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus at least ten years of experience, or Master's / Doctoral degree with appropriate experience P5 : Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus at least fifteen years of experience, or Master's / Doctoral degree with appropriate experience Master or PhD degree in applicable science or engineering discipline Understanding and application of advanced knowledge in the discipline Working knowledge of standard engineering / scientific practices and applications Career Band : Professional Security : DOE pre-employment drug test and background review; ability to obtain DOE L or Q-level clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required

Location : Savannah River Site (SRNS) – SRNS is the management and operations contractor for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions since 2008.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test and implement new DeltaV controls to maintain / support existing Facility Operations
- Provide creative solutions to upgrade existing control systems
- Experience with DCS, PLC or SCADA programming; Emerson DeltaV preferred
- Experience working in a structured environment with standardized coding
- Skills in troubleshooting DCS hardware and software issues on production system
- Hands-on experience with detailed design, commissioning, or field support for Emerson DeltaV Control Systems, DeltaV SIS or Virtualization (a plus)
- Experience working with safety systems
- Working knowledge of IEEE / ISA standards
- Good team player and willing to share knowledge across the OT organization
The position typically collaborates with Design Engineering, Purchasing, Vendors, Architectural & Engineering Companies, Construction, Operations, Maintenance and Cognizant System Engineers.
