Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position, requiring an active OK or compact license and relevant pediatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the hospital Pediatrics Float Pool unit
  • Care for a variety of pediatric patient populations with conditions ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift position with holiday and weekend requirements
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week for a total of 36 hours per week
  • Responsible for a group of pediatric patients throughout the shift
  • Document patient responses to interventions and prescribed treatments
  • Assist physicians in examinations and minor procedures
  • Administer medications, including IV infusions and blood products
  • Interact with patients and families to share care plans and hospital procedures
  • Delegation of tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • A 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
  • Extension allowed only once for a total of 26 weeks, with a mandatory 6-month separation before re-applying

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license in Oklahoma or a compact (eNLC) RN license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
