The Role, As Your Day Unfolds

You start your morning in Horizon, reviewing yesterday’s order intake for manufactured parts and issuing promise dates before 11 AM. With commitments set, you move into the Epicor production planner workbench—firming, releasing, and printing jobs only when full material availability is confirmed. As engineering releases deviations, you collaborate to keep the Epicor job bill of operations and bill of materials accurate and current.

Throughout the day, you identify shortage materials for production jobs and coordinate arrival timing and job releases with purchasing. You keep customer service informed with clear job status and shipment timing updates, while monitoring dispatched jobs to safeguard on‑time performance. Horizon flags any “at risk” orders, and you follow up proactively to keep commitments intact.

Toward the close of each job, you verify that labor and quantity transactions are complete so materials backflush correctly from inventory. You partner with the plant cycle counter to investigate root causes behind inventory not found or negative on‑hand balances—often tracing issues to improper labor quantity or move transactions. You also maintain production planning parameters to keep inventory levels within approved targets for your assigned parts.

What You’ll Tackle

• Source and procurement responsibilities tied to indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services—at competitive cost, quality, and delivery.
• Execution aligned with Company receipt and inventory control practices and consistent with ISO requirements.
• Support for the facility manager on assigned special projects, plus occasional facility MRO buying.
• Periodic supervision support of facility personnel during vacation schedules or unexpected absences of supervisor peers.
• Infrequent overnight travel to other CGUSA sites or customer locations.
• Comfort working in and around a manufacturing environment.
