Associate Research Professor - Developmental Neuroscience

The Dept of Pediatrics at the Children’s Mercy Hospital / UMKC is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Associate Research Professor. In this position, the candidate is expected to play a leading role in performing cutting-edge research in developmental neuroscience, including expertise in peripheral nervous system development and the transition to neuroblastoma disease. This position will also require expertise in embryology, confocal and two-photon microscopy, and spatial transcriptomics technologies and the development of innovative methods that may be translated to the broader research community.

The candidate is expected to have the ability to construct, operate, and manage a project-based / laboratory budget. In this position, the candidate will also be expected to contribute to grant writing and lead author scientific papers in collaboration with research and clinical scientists. The candidate will also play an important role in helping to mentor junior Ph.D. students, postdocs, and summer scholars and establish strong connections with world-leading research groups. A PhD and 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
