General Description

Lead K-12 environmental activities at locations including Ebenezer Swamp Ecological Preserve, UM Organic Community Garden, University Lake, and the James Wylie Shepherd Observatory.

  • Greet and direct guests as they arrive onsite
  • Maintain professional conduct / appearance as a representative of UM
  • Present educational content and assist in implementing hands-on activities
  • Help ensure student safety and report incidents or issues as they arise
  • Organize and transport any materials needed for activities
  • Help move students to and from their arranged vehicles
  • Participate in both initial and ongoing training sessions

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Effective public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of UM's environmental resources
  • Good time management skills
  • Good rapport with children of various ages
  • Ablity to maneuver rough terrain and handle outdoor environments
