Summary of Position
Under general supervision, performs technical tasks in the operation of the wastewater collection system. Must be able to interrupt GIS maps. Knowledge of different types of cleaning nozzles.
Depending on the applicant's experience, licenses, and skills, the position can be filled at the Apprentice, Level I, Level II, or Level III.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
When Assigned to Apprentice Vac Operator :
Assists with the operation of Combo Truck.Assists in maintaining all combo truck equipment (nozzles, wands, vac cans).Reads and understands GIS map with supervisionAssist with preparing work site and traffic control.Responds to emergency sewer / stormwater requests.When Assigned to Combo Vac Operator I :
Operates Combo Truck with limited Supervision.Maintain all combo truck equipment (nozzles, wands, vac cans).Reads and understands GIS map.Responds to emergency sewer request.Independently manages service requests, work orders and service requests in City Works.When Assigned to Combo Vac Operator II :
Duties of Level I carry over, in addition to :Operates combo truck with no supervision.Operates skid steer (Clean dump station).Clean large and small diameter sewer pipes.Select appropriate cleaning nozzles for different pipe applications.Makes field GIS changes and delivers to GIS staff for data entry.When Assigned to Combo Vac Operator III :
Duties of Level I & II carry over, in addition to :Trains employees on all operations with use of combo truck and best practices for sewer televising.Makes competent person decisions in the field for confined space entry with no supervision.Works with the Project Analyst to schedule routine task.Familiar with CMOM operations and best practices.Responds to emergency sewer request as the primary responsible field employee.Possesses advanced knowledge of cleaning nozzles selection and use.Possesses advanced knowledge of sewer cleaning best practices and operations for large and small diameter pipes.Other Job Functions :
