General Information / Job Summary

Under direction, the Plumber performs work involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of process facilities and systems. Works with various machines and hand tools common to the industry; may prepare or work from sketches, drawings, plans, and specifications in accordance with accepted and approved practices. Must perform task in accordance with State / Saulsbury plumbing requirements.

Responsibilities / Competencies

• Uses basic knowledge of regulations and requirements. Determines methods and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Prepares and / or works from sketches, plans, specifications, and roughing-in sheets in accord with approved trade practices.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks that require manually moving materials, tools, and equipment and using hand tools and power tools.
• Essential role for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems ensuring all work meets industry standards and codes.
• Performs this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water supply and drainage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
• Collaborate with project management to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot plumbing issues, providing effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with all local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
• Performs work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
• Completes paperwork documenting repair and maintenance activities. Gives suitable assignments to helpers.
• Works in association with all crafts (electrician, welder, carpenter, or painter) when conditions, schedule, or workload warrants or as directed by management.
• Requires working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
