Job Description
We are conducting a confidential search for a dedicated Phlebotomist to join a clinical laboratory team in Fort Myers. This role is directly involved in patient care, providing safe and accurate specimen collection, processing, and handling while maintaining excellent bedside manner.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform phlebotomy procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
Collect, label, and process specimens using proper identifiers and universal precautions.
Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling and documentation.
Provide patient instruction for Coumadin and perform limited waived testing (Protimes).
Ensure a clean and organized work area and maintain inventory of supplies.
Support laboratory operations by processing and preparing samples for analysis.
Deliver excellent patient service and represent the healthcare team with professionalism.
Follow all safety, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications :
One-year certificate from college / technical school OR 3–6 months of relevant phlebotomy experience and training.
Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting preferred.
MediClear Certification (or equivalent) required.
Knowledge of EMR systems (Athena preferred, but not required).
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Positive, energetic attitude with commitment to excellent patient experience.
