Position Summary :

The School Based Support Specialist (Independent Contractor) will provide guidance, encouragement, and support to assigned mentees to foster their personal, academic, or professional development. This role is centered on building a positive, trusting relationship that helps the mentee set and achieve goals, gain confidence, and develop skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Establish a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with assigned mentee(s)
  • Collaborate with school staff and officials.
  • Meet with parents and youth to discuss progress and identify needs.
  • Meet regularly based on program guidelines
  • Help mentees set goals and work toward achieving them
  • Complete monthly home visits
  • Share knowledge, skills, and experiences to support mentee growth
  • Actively listen and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
  • Track and report progress, behaviors, attendance, and issues to program staff
  • Participate in required mentor training sessions and program check-ins
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and integrity
  • Weekly check ins with the supervisor.
  • Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated experience in [relevant field or expertise, e.g., education, leadership, business
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
  • Dependable, patient, and committed to the mentoring process
  • Previous mentoring or coaching experience preferred but not required
  • Must complete background check (if applicable)
  • Time Commitment :

  • Arrive to school on time as scheduled.
  • Minimum 20 hours per week
  • Commitment of at least [e.g., 6 months or 1 academic year]

    Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with Limitless workflow Manual. The Executive Director will provide the evaluation individually.
