Director, Regulatory
The Director of Regulatory at e.l.f. must be a people-first leader. Reporting to the VP of Regulatory, the Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our function not only by driving global regulatory compliance, but by inspiring, mentoring, and developing the talented team that delivers it. In this role, the Director will : Lead and grow the team cultivating talent, coaching individuals, and creating an environment where people thrive. Partners across the business, building strong relationships internally and with external partners and trade associations. Oversee regulatory compliance across a diverse portfolio : color cosmetics, skincare, OTC (acne, sunscreen), medical devices, and beauty tools. Guide and support our international expansion efforts by educating internally and developing smart, executable registration plans. This Director needs to be as passionate about building people and culture as they are about regulatory discipline someone who can inspire confidence, set direction, and elevate the capabilities of the team.
Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Regulatory Affairs team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and career development plans to build strong talent within the function.
- Serve as a partner on the Regulatory leadership team, contributing to organizational vision and decision-making.
- Maintain regulatory discipline ensuring alignment with global compliance expectations.
- Ensure regulatory submissions, registrations, and dossiers are developed and maintained with accuracy and according to launch timelines.
- Build effective cross-functional partnerships.
- Provide regulatory leadership supporting international expansion plans.
- Recommend process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Regulatory Affairs function.
- Represent the company with regulators, external partners, and industry groups / trade associations.
Requirements :
Proven experience, 15+ years, in a senior regulatory affairs role within cosmetics or a related industry.Strong people leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams. Must have 10+ years in people leadership.Ability to inspire, coach, and elevate talent while fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.Strong knowledge of global cosmetic regulatory frameworks.Experience leading regulatory submissions and registrations across multiple regions as well as leading international expansion initiatives.Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Bachelor's degree in a scientific, regulatory, or related field preferred.$155,000 - $185,000 a year
