QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be physically fit to walk a 5-acre campus on a 12% grade.
- Graduate of a certified Security Training Program, or have one year of training and experience in the security field.
- Prior training in crowd management and / or conflict mediation / resolution.
- Proficient in current Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), email, Adobe Acrobat, and internet usage.
- Excellent interpersonal, telephone, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and file management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a schedule independently, handling multiple projects from start to finish.
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must possess a valid Nevada driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain positive relations with homeless consumers, clients, staff, and local authorities.Maintain a written journal documenting inspections, activities, property conditions, and policy infractions.Respond promptly to calls for assistance.Report unsafe, unsanitary, or unusual situations in writing.Learn and respond appropriately to radio communication procedures.Maintain a log of persons trespassed from the property and enforce trespassing policies.Maintain visibility to deter criminal activity.Manage traffic flow on the premises.Patrol the property, including Owens Avenue ramps, parking areas, and driveways, to prevent unauthorized access.Record and file accident and injury reports with program administrators.Organize and maintain files related to programs and property management.Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.Participate in staff meetings and support special activities and events as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.This position involves access to confidential information; confidentiality must be maintained. This position is grant-funded; if funding ceases, the position may be eliminated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified individuals must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodations. Reasonable modifications will be considered to meet physical requirements, provided they do not cause undue hardship.
Regularly, the employee must walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and focus. The ability to operate telephones and computers and to understand written information is necessary.
