Where we need you

Providing technical and engineering support for automated industrial machinery and industrial electronic controls.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Read, create, and modify electrical schematics according to IEC and NFPA standards.
  • Read, create, and modify fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics) schematics according to IEC and NFPA standards.
  • Read, create, and modify P&ID schematics according to IEC and NFPA standards.
  • Read, create, and modify programming code in languages such as Siemens Structured Control Language (SCL), Ladder Logic, Allen Bradley Structured Text, C++, Java, Python, and others.
  • Read, create, and modify database tables in MSSQL server.
  • Read, create, and modify HMI programs for Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other HMI's, including WinCC Flex and Panel Builder 32.
  • Read, create, and modify SCADA programs for Siemens WinCC, and Inductive Automation.
  • Install, commission, repair, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial communications media and protocols.
  • Upgrade and retrofit controls, making necessary modifications to existing equipment.
  • Possess troubleshooting skills to repair machinery from various manufacturers.
  • Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, test meters, thermal imagers, and data loggers.
  • Source materials and work with inventory for projects and repairs.
  • Train technicians and apprentices in calibration, programming, troubleshooting, and fluid power systems.
  • Perform duties with minimal outside support and ensure safety protocols are followed, including PPE usage.
  • Work remotely and travel as needed with tools to multiple locations.
  • Serve as a resource to production staff across facilities and support employee relations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for training and supervising mechatronics / controls technician apprentices and occasional interns.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience in industrial automation.
  • Certification in programming (preferred).
  • State electrical trades license (preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (preferred).
  • Language Skills

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and programming in multiple languages.
  • Ability to communicate instructions clearly and create understandable operating procedures.
  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and code mathematical operations.
