About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist (RRT – NICU)

Location : Richland, WA 99352

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 3x12-Hour Days (07 : 00 AM – 07 : 00 PM)

Weekend Coverage : Every Other Weekend

Float : Yes – between units as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in a Level III NICU to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong clinical skills across neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations, with the ability to float between units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality respiratory care to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics .
  • Provide specialized support in the NICU , including bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilators, high-frequency jet ventilation, and neonatal transports.
  • Perform ABG interpretation, ventilator management, CPAP / BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary hygiene procedures .
  • Assist in intubations, extubations, and high-risk deliveries .
  • Administer respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Nitric Oxide (iNO), and inhaled steroids .
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and pharmacists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely charting in Epic .

Work Environment

  • Patient populations include : neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics .
  • Support from : Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more.
  • Orientation : 24 hours provided.
  • COVID-19 vaccine : Not required .
  • Flu vaccine : Status unknown (subject to seasonal requirement).

    Job Requirements

  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (NICU experience required).
  • Current RRT credential (CRT not accepted).
  • Active Washington State Respiratory Care License (or eligible).
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Strong skills in neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including advanced ventilation techniques.
  • Experience with trauma level II or higher preferred.
  • Flexibility to float across units and work every other weekend.
