Summary : A leading manufacturer in the building materials industry is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join its team in Lawrence, KS. This role is ideal for a sourcing professional with strong project management skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for optimizing supply chains. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business goals and drive value across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key categories and commodities.

Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with suppliers.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and master purchase agreements.

Lead sourcing projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Marketing.

Support product development and value engineering initiatives.

Analyze total cost of ownership and implement cost-saving strategies.

Partner with Supplier Development and Quality teams to ensure supplier performance.

Drive digitization efforts within the supply chain.

Lead complex make-versus-buy analyses and VA / VE projects.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field with demonstrated technical aptitude).

Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.

Experience with ERP / MRP systems and sourcing processes.

Knowledge of materials such as steel, aluminum, glass, chemicals, and roll-formed components is a plus.

Professional certification (or willingness to pursue within 3 years).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a matrixed, team-oriented environment.
