Job Title : Family Engagement Specialist

Position Overview :

This full time position will join the Heritage Youth and Family Support Services team to provide peer support services to caregivers of youth receiving services at Heritage. Outreach services will be provided in array of settings including an individual’s home, community settings, community agencies, schools, as well as on-site at Heritage.

Core Responsibilities include :

  • Identifying family needs (i.e. access to health care, safety, and finances) and linkage to appropriate community resources
  • Facilitate the development of supportive family relationships
  • Development of natural supports
  • Navigation of systems the youth / family are involved in
  • Providing the family with intervention strategies and support from a lived perspective

    • Education and Experience :

  • The successful candidate must have lived experience navigating youth behavioral health services in a caregiver role.
  • Candidates are required to possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and must be a minimum 21 years of age.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant human service field (or 5 years of experience in the social service field) and ability to function as mental health professional is highly recommended.
  • Candidates will be expected to complete certification as a Peer Support Recovery Specialist or Family Partnership Professional within two years of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of current automobile insurance are required for this position.

    • Heritage also offers the following with this position :

  • Wellness Days - Every other Friday off PAID- 26 days per year
