Cook Nuclear Plant Quality Assurance Program Manager
Manage the development and implementation of an effective audit or assessment program ensuring that industry standards, NRC commitments, QAPD requirements, INPO Performance Objectives & Criteria, and AEPNGG instructions / rules regarding quality are enforced, properly performed, and documented in order to maintain and improve the safety and operation of the Cook Nuclear Plant. Relocation assistance may be available if needed.
What You'll Do :
- Supervise, and review the generated work products from, oversight activities of auditors and assessors, to include rotational staff, ensuring that their assigned responsibilities are appropriately executed.
- Plan, schedule, and implement effective audit programs (internal and external) as directed by the QAPD or other commitments to ensure that all nuclear plant activities comply with industry standards, NRC requirements, commitments, plant procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and implement an oversight program that effectively identifies and resolves performance improvement opportunities ensuring performance issues are identified internally, rather than by outside oversight organizations, allowing functional line managers the opportunity to correct gaps prior to consequential events occurring.
- Ensure that PA personnel are trained, qualified and certified for their respective tasks in accordance with NRC regulations, Industry Standards and plant policies. Mentor and correct identified knowledge gaps to develop oversight staff into perspective station leaders.
- Review, approve and issue formal audit / assessment / surveillance documents generated within PA, ensuring procedure adherence and, as applicable, inclusion of insights and recommended solutions.
- Coordinate / direct the activities of contractors ensuring contracts in effect for the PA Department are administered in accordance with plant procedures and include providing observations of work performed.
- Ensure that contract and vendor quality control programs meet NRC commitments, QAPD requirements, and AEPNGG requirements and industry standards through oversight and control of the CNP Approved Suppliers List and Qualified Suppliers List.
- Interface with and actively participate in industry organizations such as : NEI, United Services Alliance (USA) fleet shared initiatives, NUPIC, and NQML in the performance of quality assurance audits and assessments.
What We're Looking For :
Education :
BS degree in engineering.Work Experience :
10 years' experience in QA related activities at a nuclear facility, including 5 years in (QA or other line function) management.Other Requirements :
Broad technical knowledge of power plant operations is preferred.Strong interpersonal skills.Effective writing and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated leadership ability.Must be able to consistently exercise good judgment.Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.

Compensation Grade : SP20-009
Compensation Range : $112,869.00-146,730.50 USD
