About the role : Boston Scientific's Cardiovascular Finance and Accounting Group is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will perform a variety of duties including analyzing accounts, preparing reports, and performing the monthly financial close activities. As someone who knows the intricacies of revenue recognition, you will specialize as one of our divisional experts in complex revenue transactions and capital leasing arrangements. You will track, maintain, and control critical business assets while continually identifying ways to improve and streamline processes. Your responsibilities include :
- Providing technical accounting expertise on topics such as lessor accounting and revenue recognition
- Participating in research, implementation, and monitoring activities ranging from formal quarterly disclosures to informal conversations with business partners
- Preparation of asset reports, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations on monthly, quarterly, and yearly cadences
- Compile and analyze financial information to generate forecasts for capital related accounts
- Deliver forecasts to business partners in accordance with established forecasting cycle
- Compile and analyze monthly actuals against forecast
- Establishing and communicating accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as appropriate
- Coordinate with internal business on annual field inventory counts
- Taking an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement
- Standardizing processes across multiple legal entities
- Leveraging systems and capabilities to find new efficiencies
- Working to deliver upon key performance metrics
- Ad hoc research and reporting as agreed with business partners
- Preparing balance sheet reporting package and providing meaningful commentary
- Maintaining internal control environment and assisting with regular SOX documentation and testing requirements
