Electro-Optical / Infrared (EOIR) Measurements Engineer
Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for an EOIR Measurements Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters.
The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.
Essential Functions
We are looking for an EOIR Measurements Engineer with experience in measurement, characterization, and reporting of optical properties of materials such as angularly dependent spectral emissivity and reflectance. This experience would consist of (1) a theoretical understanding of such EOIR properties and their effects on integrated system EOIR characteristics, (2) a practical understanding of the execution of high-quality laboratory measurements, and (3) detailed experience in the design and implementation of relevant measurement systems such as visible and thermal cameras, visible / midwave / longwave spectrometer systems, and goniometers.
- Perform and / or direct the collection of high-quality EOIR surface property measurements.
- Perform material property extractions on a wide array of target materials.
- Design measurement systems for the EOIR characterization of materials and structures.
- Design materials and structures for EOIR applications.
- Develop and write data reports and hardware manuals.
- Consult with stakeholders in other departments to facilitate moving material and measurement system technologies from design and development to production and delivery.
- Communicate technical concepts and results to external and internal customers to influence company / program decisions
- Provide technical guidance in the development of new technologies for materials, measurements, and systems.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree (Master's or Doctorate preferred) from an accredited institution with a concentration in a relevant Engineering or Physical Sciences disciplineA minimum of five years' experience in EOIR characterization and measurement of materials and structures.A minimum of five years' experience in the design of measurement systems for the characterization of EOIR materials and structures.Experience in writing reports, manuals, and proposals.A desire to work in a fast-paced work environment with a motivated team that prides itself on its attention to detail, agility, and ability to execute.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to be a team playerMust be eligible to obtain and / or maintain a Secret Clearance.
