Commercial Contracts Counsel — Location : Onsite – Chicago, IL. A leading global trading firm is seeking a Commercial Contracts Counsel to join its high-performing legal team. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including technology and software licensing agreements, vendor and consulting agreements, telecommunications and lease agreements, and data licensing agreements.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice that balances risk with business objectives.
- Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, renegotiations, and terminations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support global infrastructure and expansion initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of contract templates, playbooks, and internal policies.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the legal function.
Experience
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing.Minimum 5 years of legal experience with a strong focus on commercial contracts.Experience with IT / software agreements, telecommunications, tower leases, and / or data licensing.Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.Prior in-house experience in financial services, fintech, telecommunications, or technology sectors is a plus.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Business-minded with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal issues.The SR Group (US), Inc. is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
