Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse serves the patients at Grand View Practices collaborating with patients and their providers to ensure the delivery of quality, efficient, and cost-effective healthcare services. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients served and collaborates with other members of the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This LPN position will support the Hatfield Family Medicine Practice.
Essential Functions :
- Ensures physicians have information necessary to provide exceptional care.
- Greets, escorts and interviews patients and prepares exam rooms for physician.
- Reviews daily incoming office, enters into the EHR for physician reviews and follows up with office physician as necessary
- Utilization of computer to gather information, review patient data and schedule appointments.
- Review of medications and prescription requests, including notification of need for appointment.
- Coordinates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Taking accurate vital signs which include, but are not limited to : temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressures, height and weight. Must be able to enter efficiently into the computer system.
- Performing tests such as : EKGs, PFTs, audio tests, vision tests and must set up any other tests requested by the physician.
- Communicating test results to the patient under the direction of the provider as well as answering questions that the patient may have.
- Giving injections and performing venipuncture as needed.
Schedule : Weekdays 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm, Wednesdays 10 : 00 am - 6 : 30 pm
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Vocational diploma Practical Nurse Training And Over 6 months to 1 year Acute care setting required.
Licenses and Certifications :
Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania
