Classification : Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt. Thirty-five-hour (35.00) week; evenings and weekends are expected for meetings, workshops, and seminars.
Position Summary : The CNY Q Center Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting Young Adult & Priority Population groups in Syracuse, as well as Youth & Young Adult groups in Utica. This position is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for LGBTQ+ individuals within these communities.

Minimum Qualifications :
- At least two (2) years’ experience providing stigma-free, non-judgmental and culturally responsive services to diverse populations.
- Valid New York State driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance for work-related travel, training, outreach, and occasional client transportation. Employees are not required to own a personal vehicle but must have consistent access to one when necessary.
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours

Primary Responsibilities :
Facilitates activities for LGBTQ+ youth & young adult designed to increase self-efficacy and independent living skills; reduce social isolation and increase social supports; increase awareness of LGBTQ-affirming providers; promote health and wellness utilizing a risk-reduction / harm-reduction / sex positive approach; and cultivate pride and leadership skills, in Central NY and The Mohawk ValleyEncourage youth participation in program activities and form healthy relationships with youth by being a positive adult role model and mentor, greeting and introducing new members, assisting youth with intake packets, and providing oversight to ensure all youth are treated fairly.Assess group dynamics and collaborate with the LGBTQ Program Manager, and Q Center Coordinator team to create activities for desired outcomes.Foster collaboration and leadership among LGBTQ+ youth & young adults through activities that promote teamwork and encouraging participants to actively pursue responsibility.Complete necessary paperwork including Group Summary Forms, Attendance Logs, Ride Logs, and Incident Reports as required.Conduct ongoing assessments with youth and young adults, as required by funders, and report findings to LGBTQ Program Manager on a quarterly basis.Provide crisis intervention for youth and families and make referrals to internal and external programs / services as needed.Assist in facilitating LGBTQ+ cultural responsiveness and competence workshops, and report results of workshop evaluation.Assist LGBTQ Program Manager in content creation for Q Center social networking sites.Increase LGBTQ+ cultural responsiveness and competence of area providers and maintain an updated LGBTQ-Affirming Provider list.Oversee daily operations of the Q Center locations in Syracuse and Utica, including cleanliness of Q Center program spaces and safety equipment maintenance (Narcan kit, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc.). Place requests for cleaning and maintenance as needed.Oversees Group Facilitators, ensuring group planning, scheduling and reporting are completed as necessary.Conduct inventories of Q Center supplies and communicate needs to the LGBTQ Program ManagerPerform outreach to increase awareness of Q Center programs and activities.Maintain accurate client and service records in accordance with the Youth & Family Services 16. Department’s policy and procedures.Participate in department and agency case conferences, including regional Grand Rounds.Purchase supplies / food needed to conduct Q Center programming. Turn in all receipts to the LGBTQ Program Manager on a weekly basis.Prepare all required monthly and program reports as assigned, and ensure thorough, up to date and complete client records.Complete / submit all required documentation within designated time frames.Assist with the general work of the Youth & Family Services and Syringe Exchange Departments, including special projects and general agency programs / initiatives.Attend community provider meetings / committees that address priority population(s) issues and concerns and act as agency liaison to these provider groups when appropriate.Participate in appropriate and applicable training / professional development opportunities for a minimum of 24 hours of curriculum-based training annually.Participate as a culturally competent member of ACR Health, which includes having the capacity to function effectively as an individual within the context of cultural beliefs, behaviors, and needs presented by clients and their communities.Work in a cooperative, collegial style with all other organizational personnel. Conduct oneself in a professional manner as an agency employee and representative.Incorporate best practices regarding confidentiality into all job duties and communications in accordance with Article 27-F and HIPAA, ACR Health policies and procedures and other applicable regulations. Protect agency data in accordance with confidentiality procedures and protocols.
