West Bloomfield, MI Reports to : Owner / CEO About Us We are a multi-retail operator and vertically integrated cannabis company with multiple cultivation and manufacturing facilities, and a growing portfolio of cannabis brands.
We are preparing to launch three new brands that will be licensed to operators across the world.
We need a Director of Brand & Creative who can take ownership of the brand-building process from concept to global rollout, while managing the daily creative, digital, and marketing needs of our organization.
Position Overview The Director of Brand & Creative will lead the development, launch, and growth of multiple cannabis brands, ensuring each one is built for scalability and licensing.
This includes overseeing packaging design, brand identity, marketing strategy, licensing assets, website development, and creative execution.
The ideal candidate is a strategic creative leader who can manage people, hire and direct designers, and deliver strong consumer-facing brands while keeping the company ahead of industry trends.
Key Responsibilities Brand Development & Licensing Manage the creation and rollout of three new cannabis brands, plus future brands.
Build scalable brand guidelines and packaging systems that support licensing worldwide.
Hire, manage, and direct designers, copywriters, and other creatives.
Ensure packaging meets compliance requirements in key markets while remaining visually compelling.
Develop licensing decks, sales materials, and brand books to support global partnerships.
Creative Direction & Execution Oversee all packaging, product design, and brand storytelling.
Maintain consistent brand identity across digital, retail, and wholesale channels.
Stay on top of design and consumer trends to ensure brands remain competitive.
Retail & Marketing Integration Partner closely with retail operations to ensure branding, promotions, discounts, new product launches, and deals are fully aligned.
Ensure all campaigns and offers are reflected across web, in-store signage, direct mailers, social, and all digital / traditional marketing channels.
Support day-to-day creative needs across retail, cultivation, manufacturing, and brand operations.
Team & Department Management Manage the creative team’s workflow, priorities, and accountability.
Recruit, hire, and oversee designers, marketers, and outside agencies.
Handle budgets, project timelines, and vendor relationships for creative and digital projects.
Provide clear reporting and updates to the owner on brand initiatives.
Qualifications 5+ years in creative direction, brand management, or marketing leadership (cannabis industry strongly preferred).
