Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of acute care and outpatient experience for a hospital-based position with floating required between nearby locations.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital and outpatient settings
  • Float required between two locations approximately 2 minutes apart
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 45 PM
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • Position involves evaluation, treatment, discharge planning, and patient / family education across multiple diagnoses including post-op orthopedic, neurologic, and chronic conditions
  • Responsibilities include developing long-term goals and care plans, conducting assessments, and managing time effectively
  • Return staff must be gone a minimum of 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Must provide two recent supervisor references for consideration
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • No requested time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • All requests for time off must be included at the time of application

  • Current California Physical Therapy license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in acute care and outpatient settings
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Proficiency in cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, AROM / AAROM / PROM, assistive devices, pain assessment, strength testing, vital signs, and gait training
  • Must be able to lift and transfer patients using equipment such as gait belts, Hoyer lifts, sit to stand lifts, and hospital beds
