SUMMARY
As part of the Marketing Strategy team, this position will help craft marketing strategies and plans to address business opportunities and threats. The strategist will lead health & wellness initiatives and support other marketing efforts, to drive customer engagement, loyalty, and sales for both Price Chopper-Market 32 and Tops operating companies. It is a role that requires a combination of critical thinking, deep strategic expertise, curiosity and grit with excellent judgement, exceptional range and discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive operating company specific marketing strategies and plans to address market opportunities and threats and collaborate with all functional areas of Marketing & Advertising to develop specific tactics that align with these strategies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor partners and assigned categories, including those within health and wellness, for all marketing needs. Identify business objectives and provide recommendations for marketing and wellness strategies that best address those objectives and align with each OpCo’s needs. Facilitate connections with appropriate marketing team members and vendor partners for activation.
- Develop strong relationships with regional and national marketing teams in the CPG community to maximize resources and funding from our trade partners; ensuring that vendors are aware of all customer engagement opportunities available to them and make Northeast Grocery their first choice for investment
- Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and healthcare stakeholders to design and activate Food as Medicine programs, expanding opportunities to improve community health while driving customer engagement in wellness
- Partner with OpCos, Promotions Analysts, Business Intelligence, Customer Experience and Merchandising teams to identify business opportunities and deploy creative problem solving to develop action plans that will address each opportunity
- Work as a team to identify and coordinate an annual calendar of overarching promotions such as seasonal campaigns, themed events, sweepstakes, etc.; engage vendor participation in partnership with Category Business Managers and our shopper marketing agency
- Provide recommendations on unique, data-driven Quarterly, Period & Weekly Marketing Plans for each operating company in collaboration with the Ad Strategy Team; coordinate with all functional areas of marketing on the execution of these plans
- Drive Grand Opening / Re-Opening Marketing Plans, collecting and sharing store specific information, relevant market data, unique opportunities, new offerings, etc.
- Develop B2B Marketing strategies and plans to support existing programs and identify new opportunities to grow B2B sales and partnerships
- Develop creative briefs to provide guidance to the Advertising team on creative objectives in alignment with each campaign and the respective OpCo’s brand
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity and industry best practices to inspire innovative marketing and wellness strategies and tactics that will resonate within the markets we serve.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or analytics, Masters preferred.3+ years’ experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans, preferably within the retail, CPG, or healthcare industries.Health & wellness marketing experience strongly preferred.#J-18808-Ljbffr
