Job Description

A clinical and administrative position as a Medical Assistant in our Primary Care clinic in the OBGYN department. Excellent opportunity to develop a strong foundation in primary outpatient care, working closely in a team of medical providers, nurses and front desk staff. Weekend, Holiday and evening responsibilities in rotation.

Essential Functions

Primary care MA responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

Rooming Patients

• Recording Vital Signs (Height, Weight, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Oxygen)
• EKGs
• Point of Care Testing (Urine Dipstick, Urine Pregnancy, Rapid Strep, etc.)
• Stocking Rooms / Managing Inventory
• Faxing Paperwork
• Triaging incoming faxes
• Triaging phone calls to the MA care team extension
• Medication refills
• Immunization administration during provider appointments
• Triaging Telephone Encounters (TEs)
• Managing paperwork related to patient care, i.e. plan of care, death certificates, letters of clearance, Vaccination forms, consent forms, etc

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Full time Job Monday-Friday 9-5 pm, included one late day 11 : am to 7 : pm and rotating Saturday

Required Education and Experience

High School diploma and / or equivalent

Compensation :

$23-$25 per hour plus benefits.
