Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Language Pathologist :

212 days, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Reporting to : Principal

Number of Openings : 1 full-time position

• Essential Functions of the Job :

• Speech Language Pathologist Responsibilities :
• Evaluates students and develops goals and objectives as part of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) Team
• Implements treatment plans
• Delivers services using the integrated therapy model
• Consults with students' classroom staff and caregivers, when necessary
• Attends IEP meetings and other student meetings as needed
• Collects data on student progress, writes evaluations and quarterly progress reports.
• Attends all staff meetings, weekly team meetings for each classroom, and training deemed appropriate by principal
• Opportunity to supervise fellow therapists during Clinical Fellowship Year
• Travel between local schools and vocational sites is required with Collaborative vehicles.
• Qualifications :
• Master's Degree in Communication Disorders
• Licensed in Massachusetts as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Experience with emotional disabilities
• Experience providing therapy to students with a wide range of disabilities
• Flexibility to meet identified student needs
• A strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization
• Valid Driver's License Physical Demands :
• Constant standing or walking.
• Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Bends, reaches, lifts, carries, twists, pushes, pulls, and handles equipment when performing duties.
• Able to reach and operate equipment and systems safely and effectively.

Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior) : Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions. Adaptability to perform routine, repetitive tasks within a specific period of time. Prioritizes work assignments to be completed within time requirements. Must demonstrate a positive and caring attitude toward students, clients, and staff. Must remain flexible and adaptable in order to meet department needs.
