Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 trauma Emergency Department with night shifts and required weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Emergency Department, including a dedicated pediatric ED within the main unit
  • Level 1 trauma center with stroke and STEMI care
  • Night shifts (3x12 hours), 18 : 45 to 07 : 15
  • Floating required between ED and ED Observation units, and as a Patient Observer (sitter) throughout the facility
  • Every other weekend and 50% of holidays are required on contract
  • Uses Cerner EMR (preferred but not required)
  • Care for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and high-acuity trauma cases
  • First-time travelers considered with appropriate trauma experience
  • Modules completed during orientation and annually according to specialty
  • Return travelers within 18 months are not required to complete re-orientation
  • Accepts local candidates at a reduced rate if residing within a 75-mile radius
  • Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in Emergency Department required
  • Level 1 trauma experience required for first-time travelers
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
  • CPI Blue Card preferred; required if assigned to Behavioral Health
  • Ability to float to various patient care areas as needed
