Authorization Representative
Citizens Health is recruiting an authorization representative to work in our Patient Access Office. Our mission is to enhance the lives of those we serve. Citizens Health is a community-based, private, not-for-profit organization comprised of Citizens Medical Center, Family Center for Health Care, Prairie Senior, Citizens Clubhouse, Citizens Medical Equipment, and Palace Drug. Location : 100 E College Ave, Colby, Kansas
Position Information : Obtaining insurance benefits and authorizations. Responsible to the Patient Access Manager. Days : Monday through Friday Hours : 8am through 5 pm Pay Range : dependent upon experience.
What you'll do :
- Coordinate communications between patients and medical staff
- Call insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain authorizations
- Scanning orders and other documents into the correct systems
- Assist registration representatives with patient registration and accounts
- Contact patients on the status of their order
- Compiling insurance and benefit information for patients that explain financial responsibilities
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table :
High School Diploma / GEDMedical terminology - preferred2 years related clerical experience in health care setting - preferredSkill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding correspondence.Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.Ability to maintain quality control standards.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.Ability to communicate clearly.To be successful within our organization you will need to :

Works in well-lighted and well-ventilated office. Requires intense and constant concentration, tolerance of low level noise and numerous interruptions.
