Day Manager, Hospice Volunteer Services
The Volunteer Department Manager oversees the Volunteer Coordinators and is responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and retention of hospice volunteers. This position ensures that volunteers are effectively integrated into hospice services and are equipped to provide compassionate support to patients and families. The Volunteer manager also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, management of care center kitchens, providing safe patient meals and supports the organization's mission of providing extraordinary end-of-life care.
Job Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, nonprofit management, or related field. (preferred)
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in volunteer management, preferably in a healthcare or hospice setting.
Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end-of-life issues.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft office, Volunteer management software, ability to multitask, resolving conflicts and other challenging problems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Completion of Food Safety Management Certification through 'Safe Foods' (renewal requirement, every 5 years)

Physical Demands :
Very active position including lifting and moving of purchased goods, set up at events, driving, shopping and ability to stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions :
Combination of office work, In-Patient units, kitchen, shopping at retail vendors.
Field visits to patient homes, nursing facilities and community sites.
Occasional evening or weekend hours for training and events. Day shifts with holidays and on-call coverage
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively. Must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel by car to several locations while exposed to Florida weather year-round.
