Tax Accounting Specialist
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, responsible for performing daily accounting and financial support for the Williamson County Tax Office. Level I of II for Tax Accounting Specialists.
Examples of work performed :
- Uses accounting software to generate and audit transactions
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers
- Maintains accounting records and spreadsheets
- Provides accounting assistance to internal and external customers, entities, and departments
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of information and resolves accounting discrepancies
- Creates electronic transactions and uploads financial data for processing and reporting purposes
- Processes motor vehicle and property tax refunds
- Creates, compiles and collect financial data for reports
- Prepares and tracks entries of refunds, double payments, and returned checks
- Reconciles daily transactions and monthly bank statements for multiple accounts
- Serves as backup for mailroom specialist
- Processes accounting documents and agreements as necessary
- Prepares accounting files for storage
- Attends all training and meetings as required
- Performs special duties as assigned
