Job Description

This position is responsible for leading the design, maintenance, support, and optimization of data solutions, including but not limited to databases, data warehouses, data hubs, and data lake architectures related to warehoused data, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance across multiple data domains.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of experience as a Database Administrator managing data warehouses, data lakes, and / or data hubs, including proficiency in database design, backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of cloud platforms for data storage, computing, and security or a certified cloud database manager.
  • Proficiency and a deep understanding of SQL and SQL syntax and concepts to effectively manage a database system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively on large / complex system deployment projects in a team environment, including a strong understanding of distributed data architectures and data governance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with a variety of clients, stakeholders, and students, fostering an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation.
  • Experience with data lake technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Snowflake).
  • Experience in higher education data environments.
