job_description.job_card.job_descriptionIn this program, we serve adults with developmental disabilities at their homes and in the community to help increase or maintain their independence. DSPs travel to meet 1-3 individuals per day and provide one-on-one skills training based on their individual goals. Assisting participants in their homes with tasks such as budgeting, meal planning, hygiene practices, and activities of daily living (ADLs). Providing opportunities for the participant to develop socialization / interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation / coping techniques. Providing hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's household tasks and assisting with further development. Advocating for participants' inclusion in the community and empowering them to exercise their rights. Use BuildAbility’s digital program to log the individual’s progress and performance. Full-time : 15 - 25 hours per week Mornings to evenings Hours assigned are subject to change weekly based on availability San Fernando Valley Region, Sunland, Tujunga, and Burbank, CA Traveling position Starting at $18.00 - $21.00 / hour (dependent upon prior experience and qualifications). Willing to travel : up to 75%. Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses or submit a request for accommodation based upon a medical condition or deeply held religious belief. Fluent in Spanish. Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities. If you don’t have experience, we will provide on-the-job training. Some of our best staff did not have experience prior to being hired at BuildAbility!
