Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Manchester, CT (06040) – Greater Hartford area Assignment Length : 13 weeks Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical Unit Shift : 5x8-Hour Evenings (3 : 00pm – 11 : 30pm) Hours per Week : 40 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1950–$2100 Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 9, 2026 Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend required Float : Required to other units as needed Patient Age Group : Adults Unit Size : 27 beds, daily census 15-20 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut BLS certification (required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience Telemetry monitoring experience preferred Familiarity with Meditech electronic charting system preferred COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical / surgical patients Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as acute renal failure (ARF), pneumonia, COPD, GI bleed, orthopedic cases, gall bladder surgery, and urology procedures Perform Med / Surg and telemetry RN duties, including remote and on-unit monitoring Respond to rapid response and code team activations Care for patients with bowel obstruction, colostomy, feeding tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation Manage pre / post hemodialysis and renal failure care Access ports, administer blood products, and perform central and peripheral line care Start IVs, manage PICC lines, and perform phlebotomy Oversee surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP / BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and airway management Implement isolation precautions and advanced wound care (including wound vac) Float to other hospital units as required and provide coverage every other weekend Take the next step in your nursing career with this Med / Surg RN travel job in Manchester, Connecticut.
