Senior Counsel

Overview

The Senior Counsel will report Directly to the VP General Counsel and will work with the General Counsel team to coordinate the work of the legal team. The Senior Counsel will provide legal advice, analysis and recommendation on general corporate legal issues. Act as a trusted counselor and attorney providing support to CMSU, NXC and CMRU on all legal and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters handled by outside counsel.
• Draft and review company policies and procedures concerning legal compliance.
• Assist with due diligence on all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
• Provide legal advice to Canon employees on various areas of law.
• Review, draft, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts.
• Create and conduct training in various legal and compliance matters.
• Reviewing documents for accuracy and ensuring that they conform to legal requirements.
• Conducting legal research on issues impacting company.
• Meeting with internal customers to discuss their legal issues.
