The Senior Fiduciary Relationship Advisor serves as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients, delivering comprehensive fiduciary services and managing complex relationships. This role is responsible for overall client satisfaction, coordinating a team-based approach to service delivery and leveraging Northern Trust resources to provide customized solutions. The advisor partners closely with internal and external professionals to ensure fiduciary needs are met while deepening client relationships through proactive guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth fiduciary relationships by understanding each client's goals, needs, and governing documents.
  • Lead client conversations centered on life-driven wealth management and provide proactive, advice-based recommendations.
  • Interpret complex fiduciary and estate planning concepts using clear, client-friendly language.
  • Ensure consistent, timely communication and issue resolution across all client interactions.
  • Apply sound fiduciary judgment and adhere to internal policies, legal requirements, and risk management standards.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships and provide tailored advice using Northern Trust's capabilities and network.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and centers of influence; actively participate in community and professional organizations.
  • Mentor junior staff and lead fiduciary initiatives or projects as needed.
  • Travel to client meetings based on business needs and relationship complexity.
  • Execute strategic business initiatives involving multiple stakeholders or disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of experience as a fiduciary relationship manager or attorney in trust administration and / or estate planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of fiduciary principles, estate and trust law, financial planning, and investment management.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD, CTFA, CFP, or other advanced certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex client situations and develop long-term advisory solutions.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external professional advisors.
