Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based in Davenport, IA.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83,250 - $122,100 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing technology and processes at our rapidly expanding Davenport, Iowa facility. Besides the regular responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer (ME), this person will serve as a resource for junior MEs in problem-solving and in the development and refinement of products and processes.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs complicated and difficult Manufacturing Engineering assignments of major complexity under only general direction, requiring a high degree of technical and professional competence.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting independent technical projects.
  • Develops and refines methodology for tracking, evaluating, and controlling production costs.
  • Determines, documents, and communicates "best practices" to be adhered to in the design and processing of parts or assemblies.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and plans method of approach and organizes means to achieve the solution to complex technical problems.
  • May supervise / coordinate day-to-day activities of others as assigned, ensuring the timely completion of technical projects.
  • Conducts investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new manufacturing methods and exploration of product and / or process problems.
  • Performs all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years' Engineering experience.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • This position requires access to export-controlled information.   • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Aerospace / FAA industry experience.

  • Ability to use sound Engineering judgment and analytical skills to look at the big picture, identify root causes, and guide others.
  • Ability to develop methods for evaluating product or process cost and assist others in using those tools to meet cost objectives on products.
  • Ability to research product and process cost drivers and recommend improvements using computer and other resources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of expressing ideas clearly and communicating effectively with employees at all levels, including the ability to prepare and present technical information to small groups.
  • Ability to conceive and plan projects to meet departmental objectives, and to coordinate interdisciplinary teams to keep projects on schedule.
  • Ability to find and evaluate new processes, suppliers, and technology for incorporation into our products and processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
