The Position
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This person will be responsible for all accounting operations of the company from transactional data entry to financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. We are looking for someone who is excited about owning these accounting functions with a passion for detail, is dedicated to delivering exceptional results, and enjoys working with both our clients and our team members.
Responsibilities
Transactional
- Process all AP and weekly check runs
- Update and maintain vendor database
- Process all cash receipts and interbank transfers
- Weekly timesheet posting
- Monthly client billing, AR statements and past-due follow-up as required
- Monthly credit card data upload / import and generation of expense reports
- Monthly PTO accruals
- Monthly Expense Report reviews, posting and payment
- Monthly update of depreciation and amortization schedules
- Month-end Bank, Credit Card and Payroll reconciliations
- Month-end standard and adjusting journal entries
- Project set-up including billing terms, rate table, and contract management
- Year-end preparation and closing procedures
Reporting
Month-end sales / bookings reportsMonth-end financial statements and cash receipts projectionsMonthly update of dashboard reportsMonitor key financial metrics and performance indicatorsCash receipts forecastingAd-hoc reporting and analysis as requiredProvide 1099 vendor information to outside tax advisorsAssist / support with Property tax filingCoordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returnsRequired Qualifications
Bachelors degree or higher in AccountingTechnically adept in all areas of accounting and financial management, including G / L, AP, AR, and payrollMust have a minimum of ten (10) years professional experience in accounting / financeExperience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint a plusAdvanced Excel skillsStrong appreciation for procedure, process, and operational excellenceAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally, and in writingAbility to prepare concise comprehensive reports, including necessary supporting documentationAbility to deal tactfully and courteously as well as develop and maintain effective working relationships with employeesAbility to plan, establish, and coordinate prioritiesGreat organizational and time management skillsCoachable, ever seeking to improve, learn, and growAble to meet period-close deadlinesAble to work with Project Managers to ensure adherence to Accounting deadlinesComfortable providing system training to new and existing staff (timesheet, expense report, others)Prefer some experience with construction accounting, WIP reporting (over / under), % completePass a background check which may include, but is not limited to, criminal, previous employment, and education as permitted by federal and state law35 North offers a competitive benefits package that includes :
