Strategic Pricing Analyst

The Strategic Pricing Analyst is a key analytical expert on the residential pricing & offer strategy team, leading the pricing decision making process. The incumbent is responsible for overall financial modeling and analysis during requirements planning and business reviews, product development, and pricing campaign launches for ERCOT territory.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of quantitative models & pricing / margin visualizations necessary for evaluation and implementation of pricing strategies & product changes
  • Develop a competitive intelligence framework that helps inform product pricing & structure strategies in our most price sensitive sales channels; leverage visualization software to present that data effectively to inform decision making
  • Partner with retention sales teams to implement initiatives to maximize customer lifetime value through retention offer management
  • Leverage company big data to identify pricing segmentation opportunities and develop proposals to address them; create test scenarios to evaluate efficacy of proposed strategies and work with business stakeholders to implement
  • Develop technical models that optimize pricing and operationalize product hierarchy execution for new and existing customers throughout their life cycles

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • 5+ years significant professional experience in a quantitative business function and / or dynamic and analytical environment (pricing experience preferred, particularly in a B2C role)
  • Expert knowledge of key financial & business metrics
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling and complex analyses
  • Technical capabilities in Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and / or certifications is applicable to above skills and experience

  • Basic understanding of Retail Services / Business Operations
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of projects simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees, including senior management
  • Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (required), SQL / Python (required), tableau (recommended)
  • Demonstration of the ability to adapt quickly to changing strategic situations, design recommendations that address the issues, and build cross-functional consensus to drive needed change
  • Ability to gain content knowledge quickly and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
